The second expansion pack to
single-player Quake, Quake Mission Pack Two: Dissolution of Eternity
was created by Rogue Entertainment. Dissolution of Eternity has two
episodes to pick from and although the starting level is top notch
also featuring a hidden nightmare skill, unlike Scourge of Armagon
you are actually able to pick from them right at the start.
The new levels are for the most part designed better than Scourge's and comparable to original Quake's adventure through the Demon Realm. You do not start in a human base and for the most part you will not see too much technology.
What you will see a lot of are bosses, four of them to be exact. On Nightmare they will be challenging and fun, especially in co-op. The game's final boss is none other than a Dragon.
The game does not pull a copout like Scourge does, you destroy the core to initiate the ending and giving you a paragraph of text. No magically convenient transport back to HQ. They stuck to what they were good at and it shined as an example as the better overall mission pack.
Not only does Dissolution of Eternity support Co-Op and Deathmatch in all of it's levels, some of its levels were also designed for CTF or Capture the Flag in mind and will work with Threewave, Thunderwalker, All-Star, and Team Fortress.
